VUKOTA looked off its rocker in the early going, as Atlanta's excellent 19-11-5 start (.614) through December 20 had them in the lead for the Southeast Division title. But in going a lousy 12-19-7 (.408) since, VUKOTA appears to be correct about the Thrashers slipping down toward the NHL's basement.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Jim Slater (injured) was exceptional at faceoffs (58.9%), but isn't listed below due to less than 500 draws taken. Likewise, Rich Peverley was well above-average (54.2%), but has now taken that skill to the Bruins.
